At minus 7 VMI, Price threw the 4-seamer by the Dodgers with ease. Somewhat interestingly, he also was able to get the two-seamer by them, as well. However, in 75 ADI, the cold temperatures allow so much lateral movement on the 2-seamer that it is little wonder the Dodgers struggled with it, as well.
Boston has played about 23 games in this type of conditions this season, whereas Los Angeles has played only 8 games in the current Boston playing conditions.
However, that is about to change. Tonight (10-26-18) both teams will sport close to a plus 8 something VMI having played in Boston for two games already. It will likely be a sluggfest in LA. The pitchers will shake their collective heads in wonder as to what was wrong with them. The broadcasters will say, they just didn't have their stuff and will praise the hitters for a masterful piece of hitting.
In fact, the hitters' eye will now be an inch above the four-seamer instead of an inch below, and should allow the hitters to connect solidly more often.
