New York Yankees to Play in Mexico City

March 24, 2024, the New York Yankees split squad team will play in Mexico City.  Air Density for that game at over 7,000 feet will land on the Neeley Scale at 32.77 ADI compared to Spring Training ADI's in the Grapefruit League ADI's averaging 64.53 ADI for the Yankees.

Pitchers will be in danger on the mound, just like previous games in Mexico City.  Hitters will see comparatively straighter pitching and should be hitting line drives all game long.

Compared to Colorado Rockies' Coors Field Stadium, in Mexico there will be less bend and hop on all the pitches by a substantial amount than hitters see from pitchers in Coors Field where the ADI normally varies between 42 to 46. 

Such exposure for several games in Coors Field leads to what has become known as the "Coors Field Hangover" that affects the Colorado Rockies, as well as all visiting teams for several games after the visit to Colorado.  Interestingly, all teams have an historical win percent extremely similar (39%) to the Colorado Rockies upon leaving Colorado for other MLB locations.

Two games in Mexico should not create a huge problem for Yankees' hitters, but it probably won't help any.

Regardless of the pitchers who play in the game tomorrow, all participants and observers will be shaking their head in disbelief.  Neither team will look like a professional defensive team.  Let's all hope and pray that no one gets hurt on the field.
