The schedule for these last few days of Spring Training and coinciding ADI's will be eliminated off our database after a couple weeks of the Regular Season in MLB, as each day's new VMI is tracked. On opening day, data should be available for most or all of the returning pitchers, provided they are listed on the game day opening roster for those on new teams. Detailed Match-Ups will not show up until Opening Day.
The "Detailed Match-Ups" (for those of you who are actual players or pro members) will show previous years' data for returning starting and opening pitchers, as well as hitting data from past years in the same conditions.
New Players and recently traded players will not have data in all VMI Ranges, but you can follow directions provided on the specific report type to retreive older data.
In preparation for opening day, we have been entering ADI's for each team's game day weather for the past week or so. As you probably already know, we do not track the wind, as players and coaches are used to windy conditions.
The portion we are providing for MLB and for you is the unknown, unseen air density that fewer people know how it affects the professional baseball league's competitive balance.
All the teams are playing in Arizona and Florida until today. The Los Angeles Angels are hosting the Los Angeles Dodgers today at Angels Stadium. Then tomorrow and Tuesday they will switch to Dodger Stadium. Tampa Bay will play a game in their dome, as will Arizona in Chase Stadium, however those games will be very similar in conditions to Spring Training games. I will record the conditions anticipated in those two venues, so that opening day conditions can be contrasted to them, as well, via the VMI calculation.
